Feather Birds
The Feather Bird paintings began the winter of 2019 after the beginning of the pandemic. They were inspired by Mexican Huichol beadwork and yarn paintings.
The original feather birds were made for the Mexican tourist trade starting in the 1940's. The feather birds are often beautiful and well done but the background painting is mostly banal.
After looking at the two I had collected years ago I decided to repaint the backgrounds.
