A Call to Beauty
"A Call to Beauty" was designed, made and installed in 2014. It was one of the art stops on last year's Farm/Art DTour as part of the Reedsburg Fermentation Fest.
The piece drew on the rich history of made environments in Wisconsin, from the Dickeyville Grotto to Fred Smith's Wisconsin Sculpture Park and was designed to be an interactive roadside shrine.
Visitors could sit on the mosaic throne in the mirrored niche and let the sacred white deer lead their eyes to the beauty of the Wisconsin countryside.
"A Call to Beauty" now resides on a knoll in the Dane County countryside.
