This piece was made after "The Grotto of Tethys" It happened in response to the thinking and looking I had been doing while designing the grotto drawer for the Loca Miraculi show. The shell accretions and glassware core are similar to Tethys throne in the grotto piece. Here I've added the 1950's women from a Marx Company playset which was a beauty salon. They are employing their female textile implements in a somewhat threatening but beautiful natural and fiber world (and holding up that world while they do it)
